My room Originally uploaded by Mark Brian . Welcome to my newly rejuvenated weblog. I've recently revisited the works of Ralph Gibson which are very amazing. On a recent trip to San Jose, I stopped by the Weston gallery in Carmel and picked up a copy of his recent book "Refractions: Thoughts On Aesthetics and Photography" . It was this book that got me thinking about resurrecting my weblog, combined with new efforts in making pictures, and perhaps a little writing. I hope you will enjoy the images and thoughts to come. Until my next post, take care.
So I bought myself a new lens. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. Here are some of my first images using it. All were taken on a D90 handheld with no flash and no filter (not even UV).

Photographers will recognize the cover immediately. I can remember first seeing a book by Hiroshi Sugimoto full of horizon pictures of the sea . At the time I was a little baffled by a whole book on essentially variations of this one scene. Now his image is immortalized in the world of Rock and Roll.
